Job Description - Hardware Engineer
Are you smart and self-driven; do you like solving challenging electrical or software problems; then Culvert Engineering is the place for you. We are a technology and product incubator specializing in end to end product development and are looking to grow our team. As a Hardware Engineer at Culvert you will take the system architecture and implement it as functioning hardware, meeting demanding product goals. You will work on a variety of products (IoT, Medical, Wearables, Consumers Electronics, Cybernetics, Industrial, etc.) alongside a team of extraordinary engineers in an environment of learning and growth.

Responsibilities and Duties
Own the design of mixed-signal PCBs including simulation, schematic and layout
○ Find, evaluate and manage electronic components, PCB fabrication, and assembly    process.
○ Work with the supply chain and Mechanical Engineering to realize a cost effective    product
○ Work with Firmware and Software Engineering to bring up and verify circuit boards in    the lab and as part of a system.
○ Write Python scripts to facilitate PCBA and product validation and automate testing.

Required Qualifications
Min B.S. in Electrical  Engineering or a related discipline
○ Min 3 year of work experience in the specified areas (excluding educational    experiences)
○ Be self-driven, curious, resilient, dedicated and accountable 

Required Skills (Must-Have)
Able to efficiently expand design architecture block diagram to RF/Analog/Digital    circuit implementations that meet performance goals
○ Able to capture schematics and review PCBs using appropriate design tools.
○ Experience designing with microprocessors, microcontrollers, or FPGAs
○ Able to clearly communicate your design’s capabilities, features, and plans to resolve    issues
○ Able to write clear engineering documentation (requirements, test plans, test reports,    etc.)
○ Able to effectively use common lab equipment such as Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer,    etc.
○ Able to hand solder small components, test leads and rework PCBAs
○ Able to effectively collaborate in a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team environment 

Preferred Skills
Experience in product Compliance Requirements and testing
○ Extensive understanding of communication protocol
○ Experience with spice simulation
○ Researched or developed in field of RF, Wearables, Consumer Electronics, or Medical
○ Experience with  schematic capture, layout design and spice simulation tools.
○ Experience with DFM, DFA, and DFT.
